We are currently seeking a Production Specialist for our 2nd shift manufacturing operations. The qualified candidate will possess a BS Degree and/or equivalent experience. Should have three to five years experience as a lead person or Assistant Supervisor and be experienced in one or more of the following areas: machining setup, bluing, plating, polishing and assembly. Must also have an understanding of blueprints, operation sheets, tolerances, fixtures, cutting tools and/or gages.
The successful candidates job responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following duties:
- Plans and directs departments operations to insure effective use of manpower and equipment to meet production and quality standards. Establishes job priorities, determines stock and parts availability, inspects material and product for quality, investigates errors and correct problems.
- Has joint responsibility along with the Director of Manufacturing in hiring, terminating and upgrading employees. Responsible for training, discipline, safety and employee relations within the departments. Implement and interpret Bargaining Union Contract.
- Control and reduce costs to improve overall operations and recommends and assists implementing improved methods.
- Participates in budget preparation, analyzes expenses and acts to control and reduce costs through better utilization of labor and control of overtime, tooling, supplies, materials, scrap and rework. Studies operations for process and methods of improvement.
- Maintains production records and prepares reports as necessary.
- Interfaces with other departments (production control, purchasing, quality control, engineering, etc) to meet production schedules.
